These colorful cheese ball have always been a crowd pleaser. I make them during Thanksgiving and surprisingly the red chili ball disappears in minutes .They are very easy to make and amazingly delicious, the fresh flavor of cilantro, red chili for the spicy pallet and the crunchy sunflower seeds, again you could roll them into any flavor that fancies your taste, served with an assortment of crackers, these cheese balls make a great game day snack or a party appetizer.
2 packages Philadelphia Brick Cream Cheese, softened
1 8oz package Kraft Double Cheddar Shredded Cheese (I sometimes also use Pepper Jack cheese)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Dash cayenne pepper
2 green onions, finely chopped
1 cups Sunflower Seeds to roll the cheese ball
1 bunch of finely Chopped Cilantro to roll the cheese ball
Red Chili Lemon Powder to Black pepper
Assortment of Crackers
1 Beat the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder and cayenne pepper with mixer until blended. Add green onions; mix until blended.
2 Shape into 3 big balls
3 Roll one ball into chopped cilantro, Second ball into red chili lemon powder or black pepper and the third ball into sunflower Seeds. Wrap each ball into saran wrap tightly.
4 Refrigerate several hours or until chilled.
5 Serve with crackers.
