Sriracha is a type of hot sauce or chili sauce made from a paste of chili peppers, distilled vinegar, garlic, sugar, and salt. It is very addictive. The paste form is called Sambal. This famous sauce is now been used on everything from Wendy’s Sriracha French fries to the chips in grocery stores. This is the one sauce my mother in law adds to everything on her plate. Our house can handle spice on different levels. From the spiciest level to the “Do not add even a pinch of spice “ level.
This was the spread I made on thanks giving for the spicy eaters in our family. The cream cheese actually tames the spice down a bit. Even the non spicy eaters were curious and daring to try it . By the end of the evening the spread was gone.
Again, a super easy spread to put together. Even your husband or your teen can assemble it.
1 block of 8 oz cream cheese
¾ cup of Sambal paste (I slightly diluted mine with a little bit of water)
Cilantro for garnish
1 Slice the cream cheese blocks ¾ of the way and fan it out a bit. Pour the sambal paste over the cream cheese. Chill it in the refrigerator. Garnish with cilantro.
2 Serve with Crackers or sliced French bread.
