The Best Ever Red Pasta Sauce

Now you don’t need to run to the store, just to buy pasta sauce. Make it at home, it’s quick and SO SIMPLE that you will want to make a whole batch and freeze it for the next time. This sauce can be made into a creamy sauce for Penne Alla Vodka (a creamy tomato sauce). Enjoy it on any pasta or use it as a dip for your bread sticks.


Oregano and bay leaves add a lot of flavor to the sauce. Once you try it, you will know what I am talking about!

Ingredients

2 cans have crushed tomatoes

1 can of tomato puree

1 medium chopped onion

2 tbsp. olive oil

2 Bay leaves

3 tbsp. minced garlic

1 tsp of dried Oregano

Salt to taste

1 tsp Black Pepper

1 tsp red chili flakes

½ cup of Parmesan Cheese

1 tbsp. of fresh Basil Leaves

Directions

1 In a large saucepan, heat olive oil and add the bay leaves, garlic, and oregano and chopped onions. Cook until onions turn light pink.

2 Next add the crushed tomatoes, and tomato puree, cook on low heat for about 10 mins until it starts to boil.

3 Add grated parmesan cheese, salt, pepper and red chili flakes and basil leaves. Allow the sauce to boil on low for 20 mins.
